COVID-19 update: 89 new cases, one death on Thursday

New restaurant restrictions go into effect Saturday statewide MOHAVE COUNTY – Late Thursday afternoon, the Mohave County Health Department (MCDPH) Nursing staff was notified of 89 new COVID-19 confirmed cases and one death from a previous case. There are 49 new cases in the Lake Havasu City area. There are 24 in the Bullhead City area.  The Kingman area has 16 cases.  The death of a 70-79 year age range person is from a previous case in the Bullhead City service area. Average age for positive cases in Mohave County is 48.8 years old MOHAVE COUNTY – Late Wednesday afternoon, the Mohave County Health Department (MCDPH) Nursing staff was notified of 119 new COVID-19 confirmed cases. Humvee thief goes to DOC

KINGMAN- A local judge has accepted a plea agreement and imposed the 12.5-year prison term mandated in the case of a Kingman man who drew police gunfire after stealing a big rig in May. Mohave County Superior Court Judge Rick Lambert sent 27-year-old Michael Lapeer to the Arizona Department of Corrections Wednesday. Authorities said Lapeer was able to start a Mohave County-owned Humvee that had been stored at a yard along Andy Devine Avenue. BULLHEAD CITY – The Colorado River Union High School District (CRUHSD) governing board will hold a special meeting Saturday morning so that local stakeholders can share ideas about high school reopenings.  Saturday’s public meeting begins at 9:00 a.m. in the classrooms/conference rooms at CRUHSD’s Anderson Auto Group Fieldhouse, 3663 Bullhead Parkway.  Social distancing will be in place, and the District will comply with Bullhead City’s guidelines for masks in public places.
