MEC cancels district, annual meetings

Plans 75th Anniversary celebration in 2021 BULLHEAD CITY – Mohave Electric Cooperative has canceled its District and Annual Member Meetings for 2020. Members were notified in May that the meetings previously scheduled for June were postponed; however, factors regarding the COVID-19 situation remain that affect the decision by MEC’s board of directors and management to cancel the meetings. MOHAVE COUNTY – Late Wednesday afternoon, the Mohave County Health Department (MCDPH) Nursing staff was notified of 137 new COVID-19 confirmed cases. There are also two deaths in the Bullhead City service area. There are 61 new cases in the Lake Havasu City service area. There are 59 cases in the Bullhead City service area. Vehicle accident causes power outage in Mohave Valley

BULLHEAD CITY – Mohave Electric members experienced a power outage at 3:17 a.m. Wednesday, July 15. The outage affected approximately 788 members in Mohave Valley. The outage was caused when a vehicle struck a support wire at the corner of Hwy 95 and Hulet Dr. causing it to break free and wrap around the overhead lines. LAKE HAVASU CITY – The Lake Havasu City service area has become Mohave County’s COVID-19 hotspot once again. Moss Mine breaking ground

MEC and Golden Vertex break ground on new powerline to provide electric service to Moss Mine. BULLHEAD CITY – Golden Vertex has begun construction of a new 6.9 mile, 3 phase, 24.9kV power line as part of the Moss Mine Federal Lands Expansion project. The line will tie into an existing power line at the intersection of Silver Creek Rd and Bullhead Parkway. This new power line will allow Golden Vertex to convert the Moss Mine from onsite diesel generated power to utility grid power supplied by Mohave Electric Cooperative.
