Alleged molester enters plea deal

Martinez could be sentenced to from one to 10 years A Bullhead City man who has reportedly admitted sexually-motivated touching involving his step-granddaughter entered a plea agreement in Kingman March 6. Pedro Aguayo Martinez, 75, pled guilty to the reduced charge of attempted child molestation. Terms of the plea agreement allow Mohave County Superior Court Judge Derek Carlisle to place Martinez on supervised probation, which could include up to a year in the county jail. BOULDER CITY, Nevada – Lake Mead National Recreation Area welcomed 7.5 million recreation visitors to the park in 2018, according to figures released by the National Park Service. Manker claims girlfriend’s death was mercy killing

A Mohave Valley man who claims the death of his older girlfriend was a mercy killing attended a pre-trial conference in Kingman on March 6. James Paul Manker, 28, is charged with first degree murder in the Jan. 29 shooting death of Tina Stimmell, 56, at their residence at 9903 S. Needles Drive. A probable cause statement indicated that Manker and Stimmell failed when they tried to use natural gas within the home to commit double suicide. Survey results shine light on recovery effort in Aubrey Valley, Double O Ranch SELIGMAN — The Arizona Game and Fish Department is seeking volunteers to assist with spotlighting efforts to help document the population of endangered black-footed ferrets in Aubrey Valley and on the Double O Ranch near Seligman.  As part of the recovery effort, the department has scheduled two spring spotlighting projects – March 21-25 and April 18-21 (the department also conducts two spotlighting projects in the fall). Site will be temporarily inaccessible during construction of new retaining wall LAKE HAVASU CITY – The Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) Lake Havasu Field Office is extending the construction project to replace a failing retaining wall at Bullfrog Day-Use Recreation Area. KPD cancels Junior Police Academy

KINGMAN – On Tuesday, March 5, the decision was made to cancel both sessions of the 2019 Junior Police Academy (JPA).  The Kingman Police Department (KPD) has held two JPAs every year for the past 13 years.
