Lets appreciate our teachers

Dear Editor, I would take this opportunity now that my four years in high school are up to thank the principal, the kitchen staff, the security guards, and teachers of Lee Williams High School for four years of wonderful memories and experience. I would also like to thank the teachers who were part of the effort to help me graduate from high school. It is common to hear and read in the newspapers about shootings in the high schools, teachers having sexual relationships with students, and abuse or bullying in schools, but hardly anybody takes the time to praise the…

Report litter on state highways with a simple call: Dial 511

Traveler Information Line now takes litter reports Reporting drivers who toss trash out of their vehicles isn’t literally as easy as 1-2-3, but ADOT has made it nearly as simple by allowing drivers to quickly make a report by dialing another simple number: 511. Long receives 20 years for molestation of girl

Her mother told a Kingman judge that the life of a seven year-old Lake Havasu City girl has been shattered by the man who admits molesting her. The woman’s June 17 statement came before Mohave County Superior Court Judge Derek Carlisle imposed the 20 year prison term mandated in the plea agreement convicting David Long, 44, of sexual conduct with a minor. The plea deal dismissed five other charges involving the victim, one of them dating back to early 2016.  The mother spoke of the horror of being in California celebrating her son’s 5th birthday when she learned her daughter…
