Kael Juelfs qualifies for CSC President’s List

Kael Juelfs of Kingman, was one of 270 Chadron State College students who met requirements for the Spring 2019 President’s List by earning a 4.0 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale. Students must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours of coursework during the semester to qualify. Chadron State College, which was founded in 1911, is the only four-year, regionally-accredited college in the western half of Nebraska. Lake Havasu City conducting enhanced DUI enforcement for Memorial Day weekend

The Lake Havasu City Police Department is conducting enhanced DUI enforcement during the Memorial Day weekend from Friday, May 24 through Monday, May 27. Funding for this effort is provided by a grant awarded by the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety. Dig It Kingman Community Garden receives donation from Wells Fargo

Wendy Griffitts, Wells Fargo Bank District Manager and Marguerite Bainbridge, Wells Fargo Bank Administrative Assistant presented a check for $2500 to the Dig It Kingman Community Gardens last week.  Several steering committees members were there to accept it. This donation was an environmental grant that Dig It was awarded. The funds will go toward garden improvements, children’s educational events, soil, paint, garden supplies, irrigation, building materials and other items needed at the garden. Dig It began in April 2015 and has been “growing” ever since.  We have just expanded the garden with a few new beds to accommodate those on the waiting…

Senior center funds approved with unanimous council vote

Advocates for the Kathryn Heidenreich Senior Center filled the Kingman City Council chambers Tuesday. They urged approval of an agreement that would commit the City to provide $57,000 in support of operating the senior center for each of the next two years. They whooped and hollered with joy when they were obliged by a unanimous council vote. The same proposal was tabled during the council’s May 7 meeting because Vice Mayor Travis Lingenfelter wanted to learn more about the center and its funding needs. All seven full-time employees of Go Lake Havasu, which provides destination marketing to Lake Havasu City, have earned their certification as Autism Travel Professionals. The certification process involved a four-hour online training session and exam created by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES). Lizotte sentenced to five years after sex sting

First of nine defendants sentenced An elderly Bullhead City man is the first of nine defendants to be sentenced in an undercover sting operation aimed at men wanting to have sex with minors. The operation involved a Mohave County Sheriff’s detective who posed as 13-year-old “Sabrina” on a social media platform before diverting men who responded to text communication. Eight other men from Lake Havasu City, Bullhead City, Kingman and Las Vegas were also snared in the investigation and indicted for various offenses.
