Newly hired Mohave County Public Defender Chris Stavris resigned Tuesday, Aug. 20, after roughly one week on the job. His decision is the product of two health emergencies within his family. Stavris shut down his law practice in Scottsdale where he left his family behind to transition to Kingman in the near future. BULLHEAD CITY – A Bullhead City woman who admits involvement in a scheme to alter stolen checks for profit faces a mandatory prison sentence after entering plea agreements during an August 12 hearing in Kingman Monday, Aug. 19. MOHAVE COUNTY – It was all smiles at the Kingman Elks Lodge No. 468’s annual Fishing For Smiles children’s fishing day held Saturday at Dunton Ranch located off Fort Rock Ranch Road.
