Association Health Plan Feasibility Study planned for Mohave County

MOHAVE COUNTY — Local Benefits Consultant, Erin P. Collins & Associates (ECA, Inc.) and Local Insurance Broker, Springberg McAndrews, have announced the launch of an Association Health Plan feasibility study for businesses in the Mohave County area. Mohave County businesses with 20 to 200+ eligible employees are welcome to attend one of the upcoming informational meetings to hear details and find out how to participate. Only those companies participating in the feasibility study will be invited to join the plan if it is determined to be financially viable. Charity cornhole tourney slated

KINGMAN – Venture Club of Kingman will be hosting their Second Annual Charity Cornhole Tournament on Saturday, October 12. The event will begin at noon at Metcalfe Park, 315 W. Beale St. There will be food, drinks, raffles and much more! It will be a double-elimination tournament with prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Teams of two and individuals are welcome. Team registration is $30 and individual registration is $20. Proposed grain silo in opposed in downtown Kingman

KINGMAN – Terry Thomson is proposing to erect a 31-foot-tall grain silo to support his expanding beer brewing operation in downtown Kingman. Thomson and his wife opened the House of Hops on Beale Street in 2015 and expanded it to the Rickety Cricket brewery two years later. The Thomsons opened tap houses carrying Rickety Cricket beer in Prescott and Flagstaff last year and will open another store in Las Vegas next month. No bond for man accused of stabbing mother to death

KINGMAN – An alleged white supremacist “Skinhead” charged in the butcher-knife stabbing death of his mother appeared in court for an evidentiary hearing Tuesday. Judge Doug Camacho ruled that prosecutor Jaimye Ashley met her burden to show that proof is evident, and presumption is great that Travers Proulx, 43, murdered Bette Vaughn, 74 at Vaughn’s home on August 11. Camacho granted Ashley’s motion to hold Proulx without bond pending trial because the Deputy Mohave County Attorney also proved that the Bullhead City man was on felony release in another felony case when the murder occurred.  Proulx is charged with three…
