KHAC hosts monthly dinner

KINGMAN – Kathryn Heidenreich Adult Center (KHAC) will host their monthly dinner on Thursday, Sept. 12 from 4 p.m. until the food is gone. This month’s dinner will feature beef tips and noodles, fresh fruit salad, green beans with almonds, pearl onions and bacon, dinner roll and soft drink. Dessert will be provided by Harmony Hospice. Business theft foiled; reported by pawn shop

GOLDEN VALLEY – A Golden Valley woman was arrested Thursday, August 29, for her alleged involvement in theft of property worth more than $14,000. Spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said the Mohave County Sheriff’s office began investigating August 20 when a business burglary was reported. Arriving investigators were advised that a lock had been broken off a storage building where the business was located in the 4700 block of the Oatman Highway. Law enforcement encourages Labor Day DUI awareness

LAKE HAVASU CITY – The Lake Havasu City Police Department will be conducting DUI enforcement details from Friday, August 30 through Monday, September 2, for the Labor Day holiday, per a grant awarded by the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety. The Labor Day weekend is one of the deadliest times of the year in terms of nationwide drunk-driving fatalities according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The Lake Havasu City Police Department reminds everyone participating in Labor Day festivities to enjoy the weekend responsibly and arrange for a designated driver. Arizona high school students will receive financial education this fall

Dear Editor, As the back-to-school season is finally upon us, it is encouraging to think about all that our children will learn in this new academic school year.  I was among the many parents in Arizona packing lunch boxes and taking the traditional “first day of school” photos of my children.  As they headed into their new classrooms, I smiled, thinking about all of the opportunities they will have. This school year, Arizonans have something new to smile about as all our high school students will be taught financial literacy during their economics class as a requirement before they graduate….

Lions Club, Mohave Eye Clinic host adult vision clinic

KINGMAN – Kingman Mohave Lions Club and Mohave Eye Clinic are partnering together to bring an adult vision clinic to Kingman residents on Friday, September 6, for those who have need of financial assistance for having an eye exam and glasses, if appropriate. A $10 donation will be requested allow participants to receive an eye exam and eyeglasses, with some restrictions applying.
