The Bureau of Reclamation is currently lowering water levels in Lake Mohave to aid in harvesting razorback suckers from lakeside rearing ponds. The fish is an endangered species native to the Colorado River. The drawdown is part of annual river operations which are timed to coincide with conservation activities for the fish. LAKE HAVASU CITY – At approximately 9:40 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, Lake Havasu City fire crews were called to investigate a strong smell of smoke in the 2700 block of Diablo Drive. Citizens reported a burning smell in the area. A crew from Fire Station 1 investigated and found smoke coming from a small single-story house. One ladder truck, three fire engines, and a battalion chief responded to the fire and gained control within 45 minutes. There were no occupants at the time of the fire.
