Nighttime lane closures on State Route 95 in Bullhead City scheduled Oct. 2 and 3 for maintenance

Drivers should plan ahead for delays The Arizona Department of Transportation advises motorists with travel plans on State Route 95 in Bullhead City Wednesday, Oct. 2, and Thursday, Oct. 3, to plan ahead and expect delays of up to 15 minutes for pavement-treatment work. North- and southbound lane closures are scheduled to occur from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. from Pass Canyon Road to the Laughlin Bridge/Bullhead City Parkway intersection (mileposts 247-250). Reader disgruntled with pharmacy policy

Dear Editor, Are you aware that a local pharmacy, in Kingman, changed their opioid prescribing policy on August 19? The new policy limits prescriptions to 90 pills/patient/month. I was receiving 120/month for the past two years. I found out about the policy change when I went to pick up my prescription on Friday, September 6. Man kills pets, himself as National Domestic Violence Awareness Month kicks off

That a man shot two pet dogs and killed himself after a domestic dispute with his former girlfriend in Phoenix Saturday is another example of how animals can become a component in the domestic violence arena. “In the United States last year, we had over one million animals that were either hurt or killed due to domestic violence,’’ said Laura Escapule, a Domestic Violence Advocate with the Mohave County Attorney’s Office Victim/Witness program. “Usually if there’s some type of abuse in the home, there’s usually a direct correlation of abuse of a pet as well.” Escapule said pets sometimes simply…
