COVID-19: Two deaths, 11 new cases – all in Kingman

MOHAVE COUNTY, AZ (April 29 2020) The Mohave County Health Department (MCDPH) Nursing staff was notified late this afternoon of eleven new COVID-19 positive cases, as well as two COVID-19 related deaths in Mohave County.  Both of the deaths were in previously identified confirmed cases. All of these cases, including the two newly reported deaths are in the Kingman service area. Bullhead City to hold May 5 council meeting; indoor attendance limited

BULLHEAD CITY – A regular meeting of the Bullhead City Council will be held in the Bullhead City Council Chambers at 5:30 p.m. on May 5.  A majority of the City Council is expected to attend the meeting in person and others may attend the meeting through Zoom video conferencing. Local hospital feels economic effect of COVID-19

KINGMAN – The largest employer in Mohave County is losing millions of dollars each month due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The loss for Kingman Regional Medical Center (KRMC) is largely associated with the Governor’s suspension of elective surgeries in Arizona.    “At this point we’re estimating about a 30% drop in revenue. That’s significant for us,” said Brian Turney, Chief Executive Officer for KRMC. “That equates to about $8-million per month.”   Turney said the hospital that employs more than 2,000 people has encouraged its workforce to burn vacation days during the outbreak. Bullhead City resident dies from COVID-19; 8th death in Mohave County

MOHAVE COUNTY, AZ (April 29 2020) The Mohave County Health Department (MCDPH) Nursing staff was notified this morning of the death of one of the previously identified hospitalized COVID-19 positive cases in the Bullhead City service area. This person was in the 65+ range. The individual was not epidemiologically-linked to another case and it was not travel-related.
