MOHAVE COUNTY – Dozens of people have applied for the Mohave County Manager position that Mike Hendrix will vacate for retirement on June 30. Human Resources Director Ken Cunningham said a national recruiting campaign netted 44 job applications by Wednesday. “They’re from all over the nation. They’re not just local,” Cunningham said of the applicant field. County ends day with eight new COVID-19 cases; total of 17 deaths, 156 cases

MOHAVE COUNTY, AZ (May 6, 2020) Late this afternoon, the Mohave County Health Department (MCDPH) Nursing staff was notified of eight COVID-19 positive cases in Mohave County. Six of these are in the Kingman service area and two are in the Lake Havasu City service area. Of the six Kingman service area individuals, one, who is 65+, is hospitalized and is linked to another case.  The other five are all linked to another case, in isolation, and recovering at home. KINGMAN – On Friday, May 1, Kingman Regional Medical Center (KRMC) was awarded an ‘A’ when the Leapfrog Group announced their spring 2020 Hospital Safety Grade. The designation recognizes KRMC’s efforts in protecting patients from harm and providing safer healthcare. Dear Editor, I wish mom were still here so I could take her out to Sunday dinner. The problem with Sunday dinner this Mother’s Day is that most of the restaurants either won’t be open yet or operating under new guidelines. Restaurants make their biggest payday of the year typically on Mother’s Day. Even in states that are wide open for dining there is the problem of social distancing.
