BULLHEAD CITY – The Executive Board of Bullhead City’s newly-established Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) will conduct its very first meeting on Friday, May 3. Surpassing the threshold population of 50,000 residents prompted the Jan. designation of the Bullhead City MPO by the Federal Highway Administration, supported by Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs. “MPO’s are independent planning bodies that cross city boundaries to ensure urbanized areas are adequately planned for,” according to a news release issued by the city early this year. “MPO’s are empowered to seek grant funding that would otherwise be unavailable to the city, as they are funded by…

Critical Arizona drought relief moves forward

PARKER – The Colorado River Indian Tribes have taken a history making step to implement the Colorado River Indian Tribes Water Resiliency Act of 2022. At a ceremony on the CRIT Reservation April 26th, leadership from the Colorado River Indian Tribes, the State of Arizona, and the United Staes Department of the Interior signed agreements required under the act.  CRIT Chairwoman Amelia Flores and tribal leaders were joined by U.S. Interior Secretary Deb Haaland, U.S. Senator Mark Kelly, Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs, and officials from the Department of the Interior and the Arizona Department of Water Resources. Rezoning, transit app discussed at LHC council

LAKE HAVASU CITY – The LHCT Direct shared ride service that used to be found in the Uber App will now have it’s own app separate from Uber in order to have more affordable commutes within Lake Havasu.  This service is in a small SUV or van and can accommodate up to three riders. Cost for rides will only be $3 and 25 cents. Reward offered for missing woman

A $10,000 reward is offered for information that helps determine what happened to a woman who went missing in neighboring Yavapai County more than six weeks ago. The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office reports that 35-year-old Shayna Feinman had been living with others on a 40-acre ranch between Seligman and Peach Springs. Feinman reportedly never returned after walking into the woods enroute to her friend’s house on March 9. Cancer survivor sews to help cancer patients

KINGMAN – Pat Hahn, a local woman who is a breast cancer survivor, works every day sewing a variety of items for pre-op breast cancer patients. Hahn, 84 years old, decided to assist new pre-op cancer patients with the crucial two weeks or so after their surgery in order to make their lives easier. Her organization is Women Helping Women with Breast Cancer.
