KINGMAN – The 16th Annual Brews and Brats Oktoberfest, presented by the Kingman Route 66 Rotary Club, will take place at Metcalfe Park on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 4 and 5. Kingman’s original and longest running Oktoberfest, the Brews and Brats Oktoberfest will feature craft beer from Black Bridge Brewery, grilled bratwurst and sauerkraut, German pretzels, and other offerings. There will be live entertainment throughout the weekend, dancing, vendors, and fun! Admission is always free, and proceeds from this event go to the Kingman Route 66 Rotary Club’s Foundation.

Only this time they’re kicking off the Halloween season with three nights at King-Con, that sure to add a little geeky family friendly fun to your October calendar! On October 8, the City of Kingman will hold a town hall to discuss “Crime and Homelessness.” This topic was originally presented in a public online survey as “Crime/Homelessness.” These two social issues are distinct challenges. Approaching homelessness through a lens of criminality creates criminality where there is none.

Those without shelter deserve a stable place to live

Dear Editor,

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place, that is the mirage that the people of Kingman have been facing for decades when addressing the City Council. This illusive phenomenon is both rhetorical and optical in perception but at the end of the day, the month or the years, the only ones being deceived are the good people of our town.

KINGMAN – The Kingman Route 66 Fest returns October 11 and 12, beginning at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 11, and 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 12. It closes each day at 9 p.m. Route 66 (Andy Devine Avenue) will have a hard closure between Fairgrounds Boulevard and Harrison Street starting on Friday, October 11 at 8 a.m. and will reopen on Sunday, October 13 at 12 a.m. A detour route will be in place to guide motorists around the closure.

The festival celebrates all things Route 66 from classic cars to road trip music and street art to food truck fare.
