OATMAN – Forget the Indy 500, Daytona 500, and the Kentucky Derby. For sheer drama and athletic prowess exhibited while wearing pajamas, nothing tops the Oatman Bed Races. Five-person teams, with four pushers and one sheet jockey, propel beds through Oatman’s main drag at breakneck speeds. No wagering, please. Let’s keep the sport pure. KINGMAN – A probation slip will result in prison for one defendant charged in a child predator sex investigation. “Sabrina” was the social media handle a Mohave County Sheriff’s detective used in a sting operation targeting sexual predators launched well before the pandemic began. More than a couple of dozen suspects from Las Vegas to Parker were charged through the law enforcement campaign that snared men seeking sex with underage females. Airport improvements, TruNac devices approved at council meeting

LAKE HAVASU CITY – It’s election time in Lake Havasu. Three seats will need to be filled for the primary election this August. These seats are currently filled with council members Vice Mayor Cameron Moses, Nancy Campbell, and David Lane. Board members voted and passed new runway safety area improvements for the Lake Havasu Municipal Airport. Council members passed an agreement with the Lake Havasu Police Department for two TruNarc devices. These are hand held devices intended to analyze narcotics. The analyzers have capabilities to scan more than 530 suspicious controlled substances with one conclusive test. This device will serve as a tool to enhance public safety…
