Barbara Joan Moriarty, of Kingman, died Friday, Dec. 13, 2019. She was 51. Mrs. Moriarty was born April 23, 2968 in Newport Beach, Calif. The family contact is her daughter Kasey Lyn Moriarty. Arrangements were made by Sutton Memorial Funeral Home.
KINGMAN – On Wednesday, Dec. 11, Jeremiah Grant Peacey, 40, of Kingman was found guilty of theft of $170,000 from a suitcase stolen from a cart at the Kingman Walmart. During trial, Peacey did not dispute taking the suitcase, but rather the amount of money that was in the suitcase. He maintained that there was significantly less than $170,000. The prosecution laid out a case that detailed how the victim calculated the amount of money she possessed in the suitcase through her own meticulous recordkeeping and argued that the defendant made no reasonable attempt to contact the original owner of…

KINGMAN – The Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) has awarded the Kingman Police Department (KPD) a $38,000 grant to purchase a 2019 Dodge Charger to be used to enhance DUI/Impaired Driving enforcement and Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP). The Kingman Police department will be targeting impaired, aggressive, speeding, and distracted drivers as well as other various traffic violators throughout the City of Kingman. Dear Editor, With the holidays upon us at a very fast pace, I want to wish you and your staff (Judeo and Christian) a Happy Chanukah and a very Merry Christmas. Traditions are important! Elks Lodge 468 is continuing its tradition with free toys to local children and bringing Santa Claus to the lodge on Dec. 24. He usually arrives at 900 Gates Avenue in Kingman around 5:00 p.m. by helicopter and sometimes by fire truck!
