Alleged arsonist dies in blaze

GOLDEN VALLEY – An apparent arson fire fatality in Golden Valley is under investigation by the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO). Dispatch was advised of the fire in the 3800 block of N. Avra R.,d at approximately 7:03 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18. MCSO public information officer Anita Mortensen said arriving deputies encountered a residence and vehicles on fire, and a man walking around with his hands concealed.  “Witnesses revealed that the male subject had started several small fires, leading to the majority of the property being fully engulfed,” Mortensen said. Bird scooters to be discontinued

KINGMAN – The City of Kingman would like to notify the community, that Bird Rides, Inc. electric scooters will no longer be available in Kingman as of February 3. The agreement that began in February 2022 will officially end on January 31. All of the scooters are expected to be picked up by February 3. The City of Kingman Economic Development team has worked closely with representatives from Bird Rides, Inc. over the last two years to make this endeavor a success for Kingman tourists and residents. Annual quilt how supports local food bank

LAKE HAVASU CITY – Explore unique craftsmanship of beautifully handmade quilts at this year’s Bridge of Freedom Quilt Show. The Havasu Stitchers club was formed in 1992 with only 31 members. The group was formed for passionate quilt makers wanting to meet other like-minded individuals all in the name of patterns, textiles, and quilting techniques.  Back then, the club became a chapter affiliated with the  Arizona Quilters Guild in Phoenix, Arizona.
