KINGMAN – Kingman Middle School is very proud to have nine students selected by audition for the 2020 Arizona Music Educators Association’s Northern Arizona Middle School Regional Honor Band. Held on February 29, 2020 in Prescott, auditions assessed the technical accuracy of over 400 sixth, seventh & eighth grade musicians through the performance of musical excerpts, memorized scales and sight reading. Bullhead City to hold May 5 council meeting; indoor attendance limited
BULLHEAD CITY – A regular meeting of the Bullhead City Council will be held in the Bullhead City Council Chambers at 5:30 p.m. on May 5. A majority of the City Council is expected to attend the meeting in person and others may attend the meeting through Zoom video conferencing. Only essential city staff members will be present. Local hospital feels economic effect of COVID-19
KINGMAN – The largest employer in Mohave County is losing millions of dollars each month due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The loss for Kingman Regional Medical Center (KRMC) is largely associated with the Governor’s suspension of elective surgeries in Arizona. “At this point we’re estimating about a 30% drop in revenue. That’s significant for us,” said Brian Turney, Chief Executive Officer for KRMC. “That equates to about $8-million per month.” Turney said the hospital that employs more than 2,000 people has encouraged its workforce to burn vacation days during the outbreak. Route 66 town shows their 66 pride
The Parks Area Connection (PAC), a 501 (c)(3) non-profit, working in the small town of Parks, Arizona to promote community activities and assist in emergency situations is proud of their Route 66 history. They were looking to increase community and visitor awareness of the historic nature of their town. Last year, PAC borrowed a stencil from the Winslow Chamber of Commerce to paint 3 Route 66 shields around town.
