KINGMAN – The right outside lane will be closed to eastbound traffic along Andy Devine Avenue (Route 66) from 4th Street to 5th Street for the installation of groundwater monitoring wells. Western Technologies will be installing the monitoring wells for the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality to address potential contamination and to protect the groundwater. The lane closures/restrictions began Monday morning, April 26, and will be in place for approximately one week. Business access will be provided for the duration of construction. Flag fire update: 1,000 acres consumed; no donations needed at this time

KINGMAN – Mohave County Supervisor Buster Johnson has declared a County Emergency until further notice as a result of the Flag Fire in the Hualapai Mountains.  The Flag Fire started yesterday afternoon between the Flag Mine and Wild Cow campground, and evacuation of Pine Lake, the park itself and the Hualapai Mountain Lodge have occurred.  The Red Cross is handling evacuees at the Palo Christi Elementary School in Kingman. KINGMAN – April is shaping up to be a big month for the Mohave County Fairgrounds.
