A 25-year prison term has been imposed for a Chloride man charged with 14 other defendants in the “Operation Mohave Typewriter” investigation of drug and firearms trafficking in northwest Arizona.
A Kingman man threw himself under the bus at his March 6 sentencing hearing for drug case convictions. Alfred Talavera, 39, was quite candid as he addressed Mohave County Superior Court judge Lee Jantzen.
KINGMAN – The man who allegedly trespassed a north Mohave County elementary school campus while armed with various weapons last month has been arraigned at the Law and Justice Center in Kingman.

GOLDEN VALLEY – A man who reportedly set fire to a residential structure and fired shots at law enforcement authorities outside was shot and killed by Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) deputies in Golden Valley on Wednesday, March 4.
GOLDEN VALLEY – The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) confirms a mid-morning Officer Involved Shooting (OIS) is under investigation in Golden Valley. Agency spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said she is unable to indicate whether an officer or a male subject was injured in “an exchange of gunfire.”
