A thank you to Kingman for a positive reception to pro-democracy rally in Locomotive Park

letter to the editor

Dear Editor,

I thank the Kingman community for the most graciously affirming reception to the recent rally at Locomotive Park this past weekend, on April 19,2025.

This rally was organized by Mohave County Democrats in solidarity with 50501 (50 States. 50 Protests. 1 Movement). 50501 is a grassroots network uniting all 50 states to resist authoritarianism and protect our freedoms through peaceful protest, civic action, and solidarity.

As always, all people are welcome to attend these non-partisan rallies!  The only disturbance at Saturday’s event was perpetrated by some disgruntled observers who apparently took exception to the under-lying message of this peaceful pro-democracy rally.

Again, I applaud the overwhelmingly positive response of the Kingman community to this rally as evidenced by enthusiastically plentiful honks, robustly abundant thumbs up hand signals, and resounding shouts of approval and support!

Thank you, Kingman, for reigniting my faith in humanity and America’s beloved democracy as well.

Chris Meisenheimer
