KINGMAN – The 11th Annual Race to Remember is being held on Saturday, October 5 at the Lingenfelter Center. The Creative Care Foundation will be hosting this exciting community event along with The Lingenfelter Center, The Gardens Rehab & Care Center, and The Legacy Rehab & Care Center. Race to Remember is in partnership with the Kingman Regional Medical Center.
This fundraiser supports Lingenfelter Center, The Gardens, and Legacy Alzheimer’s residents. Types of support include life-enriching recreations, such as pet therapy, church services, and holiday events. Field trips to places like Bearizona for residents are also funded by the event. Such donations give these Alzheimer’s residents a sense of purpose and brighten up their lives. Benefit funds also go in part to employee scholarships, ensuring that patients receive quality care.

This fundraiser is going to be the Creative Care Foundation’s first Race to Remember since the trials of COVID-19. The center created this event in 2009 and it remains a huge contribution to the mental well-being of patients of all three centers.
Racers will begin at the Lingenfelter Center, 1099 Sunrise Ave, promptly at 8 a.m. on Saturday, October 5. They will walk/run through the beautiful greenery of Cerbat Cliffs Golf Course, over to the Cerbat Mountains, and will then head back to the Lingenfelter Center. A recovery party will greet racers at the finish line.
Once the racing ends, a community block party will be held, open to all area residents. The block party will feature food trucks, carnival games and lawn games like big Jenga and cornhole. All who finish the race will also be entered into a raffle drawing.
An awards ceremony is taking place after the race! Those racers finishing in the top of their category will be recognized.

To “Join their journey one step at a time,” you may register anytime for the event on active.com. On October 5, you may register at 7 a.m., before the 8 a.m. race begins. Racers also have the option of picking up an entry packet on October 4 between 4-7 p.m. at the Lingenfelter Center located on 1099 Sunrise Ave. Admissions for the 8k run are $25 while the mile walk is $20.
