Open Mic comic launch is currently seeking participants

LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. – Maggie Alldredge is inviting members of the Lake Havasu community to share their humor to an audience. Owner of several businesses in the area like Maggie’s Lab Cab, and a homecare staffing agency, this will be the first show of its kind from Alldredge. She is seeking standup comics from beginners to seasoned humorists for a community open mic night.

Participants can take to the stage for a one- to three-minute routine. The more advanced comics will have a chance at five-minute stage time. With two local comedians already signed up, the event is seeking a few more. Pre-registration can be obtained by calling or texting Alldredge at 928-486-3989.

A panel of judges will be there to present wins by way of audience applauses and laughter.

The lucky comic will also earn a cash prize of $100, a t-shirt stating, ‘I’m the funniest person in Havasu,’ and a chance to join the Mohave Comedy team. Seats are limited and tickets for spectators are $25 each.

The goal is to turn the night into an annual event. On Thursday, November 12, doors will open at 7:30 p.m. and the show will be from 8 to 9:30 p.m. at the Wellness Mall at 2150 McCulloch Blvd N.

Alldredge is currently hosting ongoing pumpkin patch events from now until October 31. She is also organizing a speed dating event set for October 24. All events will take place at the Wellness Mall as just another to way bring people together with creative outings. “There’s been a lot of excitement from locals to see events like these and adults can step out and have fun. I’m excited about bringing new ideas to a small community,” Alldredge said.
