Another Darn Car Show returns to Kingman

KINGMAN, Ariz. – Another Darn Car Show Saturday, Oct. 3, at Journey Church in Kingman was not just another darn car show. There were more cars than in most car shows, vendors, remote racing cars, a bounce house for kids, an announcer and disc jockey and Candy Clark who was Debbie in American Graffiti, who made her first celebrity appearance in Kingman at the car show.

Clark autographed pictures of movie scenes and took pictures with fans throughout the day, her first-time visit to Kingman.

Also participating in the car show were vendors selling their wares and goods.

The Time Travelers Car Club and the remote racing team, No Prep RC Drags team from Lake Havasu City we’re there racing their mini vehicles.

Event organizer was Kenny Earls from Journey Church.

He invited David Fleeman who had designed a car from one he had seen in the movie American Graffiti. He and his wife were here from Bakersfield, CA.

Fleeman had designed and built a car based on one he had seen in American Graffiti. That yellow car sat beside Candy Clark’s tent for photos with fans.

“Kenny called and I came,” Fleeman said. “It’s the first opportunity I’ve had to meet a celebrity from American Graffiti.”
