Pamela Smith seeks a four-year term on Bullhead City Council.

BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. – Appointed in July 2025 to complete the term of Steve D’Amico who resigned to become District Director of the Bullhead City area MPO (Metropolitan Planning Organization), Pamela Smith seeks another four years to keep moving Bullhead City in the right direction.

“After much thought & consideration, the decision was made to run for election,” Ms. Smith said. “Doing your homework on the agenda items is so very important; many do not. My short time on council has shown that I do my homework, ask questions which create discussion and conversation. I believe I bring a unique and needed skill set and seem to have an eye for watching the pennies so that they don’t become dollars.”

To bring the crime rate down in Bullhead City, Ms. Smith said she’s excited and completely supports Police Chief Paul George.

“I believe his broken windows philosophy is going to make a huge impact. This theory focuses on targeting “minor” offenses, to prevent more serious crimes. This approach proved successful in reducing crime rates, including violent crimes in New York in the 1990’s.”

“Although I’m not sure I believe the stats listed (Covertree Insurance said that 1 in 361 Bullhead City residents were likely to be victims of armed robbery, aggravated assault or rape), we must remember, Bullhead City is a tourist town year-round. Summer with river & lake visitors, spring & fall with sports tournaments and of course our snowbird population running from October-April each year. Unfortunately, many of the fights etc. come from our summer visitors,” Smith stated.

What about hard water problems in Bullhead City? Can she help?

“We do have very hard water.  However, our focus first & foremost must be to repair/replace the dilapidated water system we acquired from Epcor a few years ago AND to protect our water supply,” Ms. Smith said. “Improving the water quality is a $200-$300 million project. There are potential grants available specifically for this purpose and the city is actively pursuing them.  Unfortunately, to date, none have been granted.”

What will Pamela Smith do to move the city forward?

“What exactly does “move your city forward” mean?  I think that statement is very subjective and means different things to different people,” Ms. Smith stated.

“If elected, I will focus on economic growth, encouraging diverse employment opportunities for our residents while prioritizing public safety and reducing unnecessary bureaucracy.”

Smith sees great opportunities for the future of Bullhead City.

“I see an opportunity for our residents to have new and more diverse employment prospects, including computer IT, management, production, labor and more.”

“Mohave College is now offering 4-year degrees in nursing & other professions as well as certificates and professional continuing education programs.”

“We currently have several commercial developments underway. A few are Rose Acre Farms (No. Chickens will not be there), a technology company, medical facilities and more.”

The concerns Ms. Smith has for Bullhead City are varied.

“Traffic is always a concern and issue. Great steps have been taken (and in the process) to improve the flow of traffic on Highway 95 with the new right-hand lanes. Our increased police presence will also decrease the number of accidents. Alternate north/south throughfares are needed. The Landon extension has been delayed due to the finding of a potential artifact,” Ms. Smith said.

“As mentioned above, water – both infrastructure and supply,” all vital concerns for Ms. Smith.

Why should residents vote for her?

“My campaign is completely self-funded, no contributions have been accepted, therefore, my only obligation is to you, the voters! So, if you want principled leadership with a proven track record as a fiscal conservative, please vote for Pamela Smith for Bullhead City Council.”
