KINGMAN, Ariz. – The City of Kingman and the Mohave County Historical Society invite residents and visitors to celebrate Independence Day at an Old Fashion 4th of July Celebration on Saturday, July 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Centennial Park. As part of the community’s recognition of America 250, the upcoming 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the event will feature family-friendly activities, local history, and patriotic fun for all ages.
The morning will begin with a Patriotic Kids Parade, featuring children and their families walking, biking, and skating into the park. Participants planning to take part in the parade should report to the Mother Road Harley-Davidson parking lot at 8 a.m. on July 4 for lineup and staging. After the parade, families can enjoy activity booths, crafts, games, races, and a water slide provided by Cosmic Entertainment. The event will also include a living history area featuring an American soldier camp, historical interpreters dressed in colonial-era clothing, demonstrations of 18th-century skills, and an outdoor America 250 Exhibit.
Following the morning festivities, the City of Kingman will offer a free swim day from 1 to 5 p.m. at both Centennial Pool and Grandview Pool. The celebration will conclude with the city’s annual 4th of July Fireworks Show beginning at 9 p.m. Fireworks will be launched from the Mohave County Fairgrounds and can be viewed from Firefighter Memorial Park, Centennial Park, and other locations throughout the city.
The city reminds residents that consumer fireworks are not allowed within Kingman city limits, as outlined in Kingman City Code 7-302(a). Residents and visitors are encouraged to celebrate responsibly and enjoy the community fireworks display.
