KINGMAN – The City of Kingman Public Works Department will continue chip sealing operations on multiple residential streets in District 4 later this week. Beginning Wednesday, May 13, through Friday, May 15, crews will begin Phase 2 of the City’s ongoing roadway maintenance program aimed at extending the life of existing pavement and improving neighborhood streets. Work will take place daily from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Phase 2 of the project will begin near the intersection of Detroit Avenue and North Stewart Street, with crews progressing south to north and west to east throughout the designated work area. Residents are encouraged to review the attached Phase 2 map to determine whether their street is included in the current construction area: https://www.cityofkingman.gov/home/showdocument?id=10535&t=639140824487611616
To help crews complete the work safely and efficiently, residents are asked to avoid on-street parking in active work zones during construction hours. Vehicles left parked on streets scheduled for chip sealing may delay operations or restrict access for equipment. Access within the work area will be limited to local traffic only, and drivers should expect temporary lane restrictions, reduced speed limits, and possible travel delays throughout the project area.
Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes when available and follow all posted signage and traffic control devices to ensure the safety of workers and the traveling public.
Maps for Phases 3 and 4 will be released next week as the project progresses.
