Bullhead man avoids trial with plea deal on burglary and theft charges

BULLHEAD CITY — A Bullhead City man has entered a plea agreement that aims to resolve two criminal cases without need of trial. The proposed deal unveiled during a Feb. 18 hearing before Mohave County Superior Court Judge Derek Carlisle would convict William Brown of three felony offenses.

Brown, 35, pleaded guilty to burglary in the second degree for unauthorized entry with intent to commit theft last Oct. 9 at a residence in the 2100 block of South Clearwater Drive.

Brown also pleaded guilty to criminal damage and another charge reduced to attempted theft of means of transportation involving an unrelated incident on Dec. 1, 2025. Police and prosecutor James Gilmore said that Brown was involved in the theft of a commercial pickup truck that was parked at an employee’s residence in the 900 block of Sandy Beach Drive.

Police reported that an officer attempted a 6:30 p.m. traffic stop after spotting the GMC Sierra that had been reported stolen earlier that day. Brown allegedly continued driving and pulled into driveway and fled on foot while the vehicle was still in drive before it struck an exterior wall and a home.

Brown ran through a residential area and was arrested where he was hiding under a vehicle in the 900 block of Harbor Drive.

Brown is eligible for probation but could also get up to 7.5 years in prison at sentencing March 20.
