KINGMAN — Hope City Church held a groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday, February 5, to officially mark the start of construction for its planned daycare. The Legacy of Hope Learning Center is a $3.5M project that is three years in the making and is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
Pastor Steve Lewandowski’s wife, Kelly, said a prayer at the event, and TR Orr Project Manager Jeff Cohen delivered prepared remarks to celebrate the occasion.
“What we break ground on today will soon stand as a place of purpose, service, and opportunity for many years to come,” Cohen said in his statement. “To move forward with gratitude and faith, trusting that God with guide every step of this process. We pray for safety for all who work on this project, wisdom in every decision, and that this building will be used to serve others, strengthen families, and reflect God’s love for this community for generations to come.”
Cohen also announced at the groundbreaking that the church officially received its building permit. The City of Kingman unanimously approved a needed rezone for the church on January 20, so the building permit was the last major step before the project could officially begin.
Cohen says that completion for Phase One of the project will be in June, and the whole project will be finished in December of this year.
“Everything went smooth with the city council, everything went smooth with Planning and Zoning, and the church is very excited,” said Pastor Lewandowski.
Pastor Lewandowski says that the daycare will operate independently from the church, and that they are presently seeking a director to run the business.
