Mucho indicted on 12 counts, all felonies

KINGMAN – A Kingman man accused of manufacturing an assortment of drugs at his home in the Walleck Ranch subdivision faces a dozen felony offenses. Alexander Mucho, 29, was named in a 12-count indictment returned Thursday by a Mohave County grand jury.

Sheriff’s detective Aaron Devries said Mucho was involved in full-scale drug cooking operations when Homeland Security executed a controlled delivery of 25 kilos of drug production chemicals that had been ordered from the Netherlands through the internet. Devries said Mucho was detained when he tried to flee from a back door in his residence on October 4.

Devries testified at a release condition hearing that the value of the seized drugs known as DMT, LSD, MDMA, psilocybin and mescalin is estimated at $3.5 million.

The indictment charges Mucho with possession of dangerous drugs for sale, production of dangerous drugs and possession of equipment and chemicals used to produce dangerous drugs. Each of these first three counts involves DMT (dimethyltryptamine).

Mucho is charged with the same three offenses involving LSD (lysergic acid diethylamide) and psilocybin, both hallucinogenic drugs for six more indictment counts.

Counts 10 and 11 involve mescalin and manufacturing and possessing the dangerous drug for sale. Count 12 involves possession for sale of MDMA (methlyenedioxyamphetamine).

Deputy Kingman Police Chief Rusty Cooper said some of the drugs had been packaged for unidentified cross-country destinations.

Mucho, a ten-year veteran, has resigned his firefighter position with the Northern Arizona Consolidated Fire District. Mucho is free after a total $200,000 bond was posted on his behalf. Mucho faces arraignment November 7 before Judge Doug Camacho
