BULLHEAD CITY — A Bullhead City woman’s hope for probation in her drug case was dashed by a Mohave County Superior Court judge who instead decided to send her to the Arizona Department of Corrections. Judge Derek Carlisle imposed a three-year prison term during the December 19 sentencing hearing for Brei Zagorsky, 39.

Bullhead City police located about five ounces of methamphetamine after an infraction related traffic stop of the vehicle Zagorsky was driving on January 16. The drugs were located in the glove box.

The first attempt to enter a plea agreement for Zagorsky was derailed in April when she claimed that the drugs were strictly for personal use. She pleaded guilty to a sale of dangerous drugs charge in late October.

Noting 21 previous convictions for misdemeanors, Judge Carlisle ordered the prison term for Zagorsky’s first felony offense.

Zagorsky’s passenger and co-defendant Christopher Beals was considered more culpable for admitting he had purchased the drugs in California. Beals, 36, Bullhead City, is serving a five year prison sentence.
