MOHAVE VALLEY – The man convicted in a late reported child sex offense case in Mohave Valley will be sentenced to the Arizona Department of Corrections. A Mohave County Superior Court jury deliberated for about three hours before returning verdicts on December 11 in the trial of Jon Deocampo, 60.

The panel found Deocampo guilty of three counts of sexual conduct with a minor and not guilty of another sexual conduct with a minor charge.

Deputy County Attorney Leah Nelson told the jury that the defendant bartered favors and gifts in exchange for various sexual touching and activity over a three-year period ending a decade ago. She said the criminal conduct stopped when the victim began living with her natural father at the age of 14.

Nelson said the girl began experiencing victim trauma and nightmares in 2019 and finally reported the abuse in 2021.

Deocampo faces long range mandatory prison punishment when sentenced January 16.
