KINGMAN – The City of Kingman invites residents, developers, business owners, and community stakeholders to attend their upcoming developer workshop focused on key changes to the City’s development processes and zoning regulations. The event will take place Thursday, July 10, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at Kingman City Hall, 310 N. 4th Street.
This public workshop will provide an overview of significant initiatives underway, including improvements to the online permitting platform, updates to the subdivision process, and a rebranding of the City’s Development Services review process. These updates are designed to shorten project timelines by at least 30 days and eliminate unnecessary redundancies which will make it easier and more efficient to bring new development projects to life in Kingman.
City staff will also introduce a revised land use matrix and seek public input on proposed changes to allowable land uses within commercial and industrial zoning districts. As part of these updates, the City is proposing the creation of a new Downtown District (DD), which would replace the current Transect Zones. The goal of this district is to streamline zoning, support revitalization of the downtown corridor, and provide clear, consistent development standards that encourage sustainable reuse of existing structures and facilitate the growth of new businesses.
This workshop will mark the third in a series of collaborative sessions launched by the City of Kingman since October 2024. “These workshops were initiated by the Kingman City Council to strengthen relationships between city officials and the local development community, with the shared goal of improving the development process,” said Development Services Director Jason Moquin. “We look forward to sharing our new initiatives and hearing valuable feedback from the community.”
