Man arrested in fatal Golden Valley collision over weekend

MOHAVE COUNTY — A Bullhead City man was arrested following a traffic collision that killed a Kingman man in Golden Valley over the weekend. The crash at milepost 22 on State Route 68 was reported at about 4:23 a.m. on Sunday, June 8.

“A 2-door coupe was witnessed traveling at a high rate of speed in a 50-mph zone when it struck a motorcyclist in the rear, throwing the motorcyclist to the pavement,” a Department of Public Safety (DPS) news release said. DPS said Travis Johnson, 54, was dead at the scene.

DPS said the driver of the coupe, Skyler Jerome McQuater, 24, was arrested for driving under the influence. The agency said additional charges are pending ongoing investigation.
