Gemstoners host Gem and Mineral Show at MC Fairgounds in May

KINGMAN — Mohave County Gemstoners (MCG) will be having its Gem and Mineral Show at the Mohave County Fairgrounds on May 3 and 4. The event will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, and from 9 a.m. 4 p.m. on Sunday. The event is free and open to the public, but MCG also accepts donations.

The Gem and Mineral Show features educational displays and exhibits for gemstones, minerals, fossils, rocks, jewelry, woodwork, and clothing. A variety of items will be available for purchase as well, such as mineral specimens, petrified wood, fossils, handmade jewelry, gems, rock art, and carvings. 

There will be activities for kids, as well as raffles, hourly door prize drawings, and food vendors. 

MCG has regular meetings on the second Tuesday of every month at 6:30 p.m. in the Kathryn Heidenreich Adult Center, located at 1776 Airway Ave in Kingman. The next meeting will be on May 13. 

The Mohave County Gemstoners is a member of the Rocky Mountain Federation of Mineralogical Societies, an affiliate of the American Federation of Mineralogical Societies. Many of its members go into the Lapidary Field, which involves cutting, shaping, and polishing rocks and minerals found in nature.
