KINGMAN – The Museum of the Great Wars has two displays in town for Women’s History Month. The first display is located in the window of Beale Celebrations on the corner of Fourth St. and Beale St.

This display includes six uniforms from WWII. Presented are the uniforms of a U.S. Navy Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service (WAVE), a U.S. Army Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps. (WAAC), an Army nurse and three Red Cross volunteers.

The second and more elaborate display is once again at National Bank of Arizona on Stockton Hill Road and can be viewed during normal banking hours through the end of the month.

This display also features a Navy WAVE, as well as two female Marine Corps reserve uniforms. In addition, the museum is proud to present a U.S. Army nurse uniform—its first Vietnam-era female uniform. This display also includes a New York civil defense uniform. These uniforms are accompanied by a wide range of photos, posters and other period memorabilia.

The Museum of the Great Wars is currently fundraising to build a small permanent facility on a lot located on the corner of Butler Ave and Van Nuys. For more information, visit their website at https://www.greatwarsmuseum.org or follow them on Facebook.
