LAKE HAVASU CITY – A Lake Havasu City man who tossed a knife at a Lake Havasu City police officer will avoid prison if he complies with terms of a probation guaranteed plea agreement entered in Kingman on Thursday, February 20.
Deputy Mohave County attorney Eric Nolan told Mohave County Superior Court judge Derek Carlisle that officers responded to a domestic disturbance incident reported on January 4 at a home where Kyle Nollet, 27, resided with his parents.
Nolan said Nollet cursed as he opened the front door of the home and threw a knife that struck an officer in the leg. The officer was not injured and Nollet was arrested.
Nollet pleaded guilty to aggravated assault. That’s a reduction because the charge no longer involves an officer as a victim and the state has withdrawn the companion allegation that it was a dangerous offense.
Two disorderly conduct involving a weapon counts, and criminal damage and drug paraphernalia charges are dismissed in the deal.
Nollet still faces possible county jail time and as many as five years probation when sentenced March 19.
