Red Cross names Executive Director for Northern Arizona

FLAGSTAFF – Henning Bry Larsen has joined the American Red Cross as the new Executive Director for the Northern Arizona Chapter. This marks the beginning of a new chapter for our region, strengthening our commitment to helping communities prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters.

“Henning will strengthen the Red Cross presence across Mohave, Coconino, Yavapai, Navajo and Apache counties, bringing his leadership and strategic vision to enhance our impact in these communities,” said Arizona and New Mexico Region Chief Executive Officer Edgar Olivo.

Henning is deeply familiar with the Red Cross, having served as a Community Volunteer Leader in the Northwest Washington Chapter in Seattle. This role provided him with invaluable insight into the Red Cross mission and the transformative power of volunteer-driven service. He has also assisted the NW Washington Board and leadership team in achieving success in fundraising, community development, volunteer recruitment, communications and mission capacity, with a special focus on LGBTQIA+ communities.

With over 20 years of experience in volunteer training, community organizing, strategic communications, and project management, he brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to the role.

“Henning possesses the expertise and passion essential for fostering resilience across Northern Arizona. His talent for building strong partnerships, engaging volunteers and mobilizing resources will be crucial in expanding our programs and ensuring the continued delivery of vital humanitarian services,” Olivo said.
