Seedorf enters plea for drug sales

LAKE HAVASU CITY – A Lake Havasu City man arrested during a quarter-pound methamphetamine seizure has entered a plea agreement in Mohave County Superior Court in Kingman. Michael Seedorf, 48, pleaded guilty to possession of dangerous drugs for sale during a January 27 hearing before Judge Lee Jantzen.

Deputy County Attorney Jake Chavez said Seedorf was driving at 4:43 a.m. last August 6 when Lake Havasu city police officers observed multiple traffic infractions before pulling the vehicle over on Sweetwater Avenue. He said 87.7 grams of meth were found in a black bag behind the driver’s seat when a search was executed after a drug dog alerted on the vehicle.

Police said they also confiscated about 500 fentanyl pills, more than $1,700 in cash and a handgun during the stop. Charges associated with the fentanyl and weapon are dismissed in the plea agreement.

Judge Jantzen has broad discretion in imposing punishment during a February 24 sentencing hearing. Terms of the deal allow as little as probation and as many as 10 years in prison.
