BULLHEAD CITY – An elderly Bullhead City man already serving prison time for a sex offense involving a minor has been given more time behind bars related to another underage victim.
Anthony Ortiz, 68, pleaded guilty Monday, Nov. 25 to sexual abuse of a minor before Mohave County Superior Court Judge Derek Carlisle imposed the seven-year prison sentence mandated in the plea deal.
Deputy County Attorney Amanda Claerhout said the female victim was 12- and 13-years old when violated by Ortiz between 2021 and 2022.
Ortiz is already serving a 10-year sentence following a previous plea agreemen involving another underage female in Bullhead City in 2021.
Judge Carlisle ruled that the seven-year sentence run consecutive to the decade he imposed in the previous case. Ortiz must serve probation and register as a sex offender if he survives his prison sentences.
