KINGMAN – A Kingman man’s three-day-long sex offense trial ended in a hung jury. The panel deliberated for about 2.5-hours before informing the Court on Nov. 21 it was unable to reach unanimous verdicts in the trial of David Harder, 41.
Mohave County Superior Court judge Lee Jantzen scheduled a second trial to begin on Feb. 4, 2025.
Harder is charged with six counts each of sexual assault and sexual conduct with a minor.
Deputy Mohave County attorney Amanda Claerhout argued that the victim who is now 20-years-old was 14-16-years-old when victimized by Harder over a three-year period, though she didn’t come forward with allegations until three years ago.
Defense attorney Greg McPhillips argued for acquittal, contending the jury should have reasonable doubt due to late reporting and the victim’s inability to provide specific dates of the offenses.
