Underground line results in MEC outage

mohave electric coop

BULHEAD CITY – At 1:07 p.m. Tuesday, an outage occurred for approximately 3,600 Mohave Electric Cooperative (MEC) members in Fort Mohave and Bullhead City areas.

An issue with an underground line caused the self-protection automatic system to activate cutting power to 3,600 meters. Underground system issues are difficult to detect. Crews located the issue, made repairs, restoring power to all members at 2:58 p.m.

Outage restoration is important to Mohave Electric Cooperative. Please remember, there are many ways to report an outage. You can call our toll-free line at 1-844-632-2667, text “outage” to 55050 from a number linked to your MEC account or use our SmartHub® application on your mobile device to report the outage. You can also track outages on our website at: https://www.mohaveelectric.com/outage-center/.
