LAKE HAVASU CITY – Excitement was in the air as the Havasu Community Health Foundation (HCHF) hosted their 32nd Annual Elegant Evenings Fashion Show fundraiser on Nov. 15 at the London Bridge Resort.
The cancer association is no stranger to selling out for their annual elegant fashion show event. This year the Winter Wonderland themed occasion will give attendees a peek of the many fashionable stores in town. Fashions from Olive and Ella, Denim and Diamonds, Bling, Chic Again, Dillards, and much more will be displayed at the fundraiser fashion show.
The show had a silent auction provided by their sponsors, a no host bar, grand raffle prize, and a light meal. Tickets sales go towards low cost mammograms and other Cancer Association programs.
Since 2016, Kathy Jo Baumer has been the chairperson of one the town’s most popular events. The charity she has seen over the years from Havasu still overwhelms her even today. “I love the enthusiasm I see from the community every year. Their generosity is just astounding.” The Cancer Association is passionate about showing the community that charity is a trend that should never go out of style.
The Cancer Association is with HCHF and was organized in 1999 by a group of local volunteers. They aimed to put an emphasis on cancer screenings at a low cost. The group provides education and a support system for cancer patients and their families. The day is celebrated twice a year. Once in June with their breakfast event and again with their end of the year celebration every December.
They are strong believers that early detection is the best method to increase positive diagnosis. The Cancer Association raises funds in Lake Havasu that will be beneficial to the residents. The association hosts other events throughout the year to celebrate the survivors of cancer with their National Survivors Cancer Day.
