LHC man takes plea for child assault

Fabrizzio Dransfield

LAKE HAVASU CITY – A Lake Havasu City man pleaded guilty Tuesday, Feb. 14 to aggravated assault for slamming a one-year-old child to the couch in a home in the 1700 block of Willow Ave. Deputy Mohave County attorney Jeff Haws told Superior Court Judge Lee Jantzen that a surveillance system “nanny cam” captured the Dec. 22, 2023 incident involving Fabrizzio Dransfield, 31.

Haws said Dransfield was upset because the boy would not stop crying. Defense attorney Daniel Rubalcava noted that the victim was not injured.

A Victim’s Witness advocate read into the record a letter from the victim’s mother.

“I am in fear for my safety,” the statement said, further alleging a personal, retaliatory threat by Dransfield.

The plea agreement dismisses a child abuse charge and guarantees supervised probation for the defendant. Dransfield also faces up to one year in the county jail at a March 15 sentencing hearing.
