Suspected drowning under investigation

LAKE HAVASU CITY – A suspected drowning is under investigation at Lake Havasu. The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office was notified at 8:20 a.m. Thursday that a body had been spotted in the water.

“The Division of Boating Safety responded to the area of Thompson Bay near the Skate Park and located a deceased male subject under water, approximately 100 feet off of the shore,” said sheriff’s spokeswoman Anita Mortensen. “Members of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Dive Rescue and Recovery Team secured the scene, and recovered the body from the water.”

Mortensen said no suspicious circumstances were evident. No details were provided how the subject came to be in the water.

The deceased was transferred to the Mohave County Medical Examiner’s office as part of a continuing investigation.
