Canines, owners turn out for Mangy Mutt 5k Walk/Run

KINGMAN – Saturday, February 29, Chris Brady along with the Low Cost Spay/Neuter Foundation, hosted its 6th Annual Mangy Mutt 5K Walk/Run at the KRMC Hualapai Mountain Campus.

The event drew in a large crowd with not only people but their four legged friends as well with over 140 participants not including dogs, which makes this the biggest year yet and the most dog participation in years.

“By entering the race, they help the rest of the community. The funds are raised through our foundation which is a nonprofit and all monies is going to go towards spay and beautiful assistance and sometimes even medical care for low income families. It’s our biggest fundraiser of the year every year,” says Kristin Freiert, Marketing Manager and Nonprofit Coordinator.

The Foundation has been in existence for almost 8 years, since 2012, and the clinic has a high volume of spay/neuter customers servicing over 45,000 dog and cats in the Tristate area, averaging over 30-35 surgeries a day.
