Historic Ghost Walks this weekend

249th Marine Corps Birthday Ball

Dear Editor,

On Nov 2nd, Sat at 5 PM  The Dean W. Reiter Detachment #887 of the Kingman Marine Corps League will meet to celebrate the 249th Birthday of the United States Marine Corps. This years birthday ball will be held at Beale Street Celebrations, located at the corner of 4th and Beale St, Kingman.

Happy hour will commence at 5 P.M. or 1700 Hours for our military members. At 6 P.M. we will hold the traditional Birthday Ceremony.  The colors will be presented by members of the Kingman Young Marines

MCC brings back Bighorn Trek event to Kingman Campus

MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave Community College is hosting its third annual Bighorn Trek event for high school students, community members, MCC students and community partners. The event is from 9 AM-1 PM, Wednesday, Oct. 16, on the MCC Kingman Campus, 1971 E. Jagerson Ave. The event is free to attend.

The event will showcase MCC programs and resources, community resource partners, higher education transfer partners and workforce agencies.

BCSD school sale will include children’s reading materials

BULLHEAD CITY – Children’s books and study materials no longer used in classrooms will be available for purchase at the next sale hosted by the Bullhead City School District. The public may visit on October 10 from 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

This week’s sale of older curriculum items has moved to a new location in a storage building immediately behind the District Office at 1004 Hancock Road, in Suite 400. That building is also just west of Bullhead City Middle School and just north of Coyote Canyon School.

Old Hwy 66, Ft. Rock Road project improvements completed

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers that a highway safety improvement project at the intersection of Old Highway 66 and Fort Rock Road near Seligman in Yavapai County is completed. 

Major elements of the project included:

~ Widening the highway to add new east- and westbound turn lanes (milepost 138) and repaving Fort Rock Road.

~ Installing new pavement markings and signs.

~ Drainage work and other related work.
