KSS Taco Bell wins first tourney of the season

KSS Taco Bell, a Kingman-based traveling senior softball team, won its first tournament of the year at Rotary Park in Bullhead City over the weekend. The Kingman Senior Softball (KSS) squad won all five games to claim the 60 AAA division at the annual Top Gun Winter Classic. KSS opened with an 18-16 defeat of the Jokers from California, followed by a 14-13 win over the Boys of Summerlin from Nevada on Friday. Alleged arsonist dies in blaze

GOLDEN VALLEY – An apparent arson fire fatality in Golden Valley is under investigation by the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO). Dispatch was advised of the fire in the 3800 block of N. Avra R.,d at approximately 7:03 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18. MCSO public information officer Anita Mortensen said arriving deputies encountered a residence and vehicles on fire, and a man walking around with his hands concealed.  “Witnesses revealed that the male subject had started several small fires, leading to the majority of the property being fully engulfed,” Mortensen said.
