The Arizona Game and Fish Department is asking hunters to continue doing their part to help keep Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) at bay. CWD is a fatal wildlife disease that affects the nervous system of deer and elk. All successful deer and elk hunters are encouraged to bring the head of their harvested animal, especially bucks and bulls, to any department office statewide — but only after calling first and scheduling a delivery time between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Arizona Water Resources Director recommends approving a Colorado River water transfer to the Town of Queen Creek

PHOENIX – The Arizona Department of Water Resources has recommended that the Secretary of the Interior approve a partial transfer of GSC Farm, LLC’s fourth priority Colorado River water entitlement to the Town of Queen Creek from farmland in the Cibola area of La Paz County. In a letter dated September 4, 2020, ADWR Director Tom Buschatzke recommended approval of a transfer of 1,078.1 acre-feet per year. Sorenson charged in campground rape

LAKE HAVASU CITY – A Lake Havasu City man has been arrested for allegedly raping a sleeping woman at the Crazy Horse campground. The 39-year-old victim and her daughter ended up in an altercation with her alleged assailant about 12:30 a.m., on Sept. 7. The woman told officers she was being raped by 30-year-old Jeremy Sorenson when she woke up. The daughter said Sorenson walked by her and into her mother’s bedroom after asking where she was.
