Women With Willpower seeks players for first ever charity golf tourney

LAKE HAVASU CITY — The Women With Willpower are swinging their way into the new year and filling up the coming months with an abundance of fundraising happenings. Known as one the most giving nonprofits in Lake Havasu, the charity is continuously coming up with creative events to help women in need.

Previous community functions such as their winter bunco, saddle giddy up, murder on the petulant Express, and fashion shows, all help to raise funds to assist the women in our community facing financial hardships.  They assist their recipients with necessities like childcare, education enrollments, even housing and utility payments.

In return, beneficiaries are to share their time helping out others and organizations within the community.  Currently their upcoming first ever golf tournament is in need of participants.  Their Swing Fore Golf Tournament will be yet another benefit gala.

Volunteers of the games can enter solo or in teams of four.  Individuals can play for $75.00 and teams of four can join in for $300.00.  Entry fees include nine holes of golf, taco bar lunch, raffles and 50/50 drawings, contest prizes, and a golf cart.

The Swing Fore Golf Charity will take place on Saturday, February 7, with a shotgun start of 11 a.m. and the game will begin at 12 p.m. at The Lake Havasu Golf Course at the front 9 of the west course.

President Sheri Ashford of the nonprofit wants to shoot for their yearly goal with monthly fundraisers to support their continuation to help underserved women.

Registration forms can be accessed by visiting https://womenwithwillpower.org. You can email the sign-up sheet with your name at womenwithwillpowerlhc@gmail.com  “Each year our mission is to reach $40,000 to provide the assistance we give.  We love being able to help them at these events and we have fun while doing them,” Ashford said.
